Lured to a Japan he hasn't seen since World War II, century-old mutant Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) finds himself in a shadowy realm of yakuza and samurai. Wolverine is pushed to his physical and emotional brink when he is forced to go on the run with a powerful industrialist's daughter (Tao Okamoto) and is confronted -- for the first time -- with the prospect of death. Very well done, although hard to determine where this particular movie fits in? Still, very entertaining and captivating, love the Yakuza / Japanese dimension added. Great cinematography and well written. All the magic, action, fast paced, suspense, twists and emotion familiar to the genre.

i really dont understand the point of this movie. how is this somewhat related to wolverine at all? its like some anime fanboy who happens to like wolverine wanted to merge these 2 niche to satisfy his wibu fantasy of having xmen in japan. this movie doesnt play any role or significant in xmen universe at all nor to logan character. he just so happened to be caught up in this japanese family drama of some old man who was obsessed with logan healing capability to stay immortal because he cant let go of his wealth. the whole wolverine ordeal is that he has the ability to self heal. why would u remove that for the sake of story line? if they didnt remove his abilty from the start this whole family drama wont happened. this drama only got carried away because logan was weak and in pain. just wrap it up already smh.

A 20th Century Fox interpretation of this part of Logan’s life, a lot more could of been done. Only if Marvel Studios had creative control at this point. But, it has a decent pace, and most of the action isn’t over the top. As always Hugh Jackman pulls off his end of the bargain. I enjoy it the more times I watch it.
