In ancient times, the gods of Asgard fought and won a war against an evil race known as the Dark Elves. The survivors were neutralized, and their ultimate weapon -- the Aether -- was buried in a secret location. Hundreds of years later, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) finds the Aether and becomes its host, forcing Thor (Chris Hemsworth) to bring her to Asgard before Dark Elf Malekith (Christopher Eccleston) captures her and uses the weapon to destroy the Nine Realms -- including Earth.

Loki is the only character who makes himself new and interesting. When he is around, Thor: The Dark World becomes a different film altogether. You wish there was more of him. The rest of it is metal clanking.

The film isn't bad in itself, but the story is slight and feels a bit pointless. The only interesting moments are the ones featuring Loki and the post-credits scene which amounts to just a few minutes, so it’s really more of a "watch it because you have to" kind of movie.

Brilliant. Malekith will send shivers down your spine 😜, Loki adds dimension to his character, Jane learns a LOT concerning everything, Thor steps up as he should, ah the MCU is all good. Whole cast performs admirably in character. Great cinematography and visually stunning. Very well written and brought to screen. Very entertaining and captivating
