Marti Noxon is a true genius and Lily Collins and Keanu Reeves did an outstanding job of portraying a troubled young adult and a patient and understanding doctor. Spoiler alert! The ending was extremely disappointing though, but all in all, this film was highly enjoyable and a must-watch! I AM A SURGEON! Putting a bunch of young people in a house where they get points for eating and then telling them that life isn't about food? I know the doctor wasn't using conventional methods, but they didn't have to portray the situation as if it were some kind of super academy for recovering youth. The worst part: the scene where Lily Collins sees herself doesn't convey any symbolism to me. Maybe it wasn't necessary; maybe she just needed something simpler, like a review of what's coming into her life. All of us trying to overcome eds wish those aspirations would come to us like that... like a vision. I can't quite tell to what extent this is a raw and realistic film or just a dramatic film developed as dramatically as possible. See more Jon P @prsonjo Jan 5 As a parent of a soon to be 17 year old who has been going through this for the past 2-3 years this was very hard to watch. Its so real. If you've never helped your child through this I'm not sure you can understand how hard it is on everyone. We've had our daughter in half a dozen programs. Multiple residential programs. Twice we had her in programs in another state. We've been with her in the ER many times, she's spent multiple hospital stays over holidays. We missed Thanksgiving one year and Christmas another year. We've tried family based therapy. I guess what I'm saying is this movie really shows how it is. It's terrifying as for the family as well as the person themselves. See more Rachel G @raelizzy Dec 30 This was the most single-handedly worst movie I have ever watched. It was horrible when I tell you this movie was just it was horrible. If I can’t even explain like the girl makes me so mad she’s 20 years old and I know people can struggle, but she just has no will for life and end the lesbian couple. It just brought me in the wrong way that house that she was staying in was so like it gave me bad vibes and also another thing like why was her mom feeding her like that and I’m so glad she went back to her home at the end but like guys just don’t watch this movie. I thought it was gonna be good. I thought we were gonna have better characters. it feels like one of those Walmart version movies. It’s just horrible. Like do not watch it when I tell you if I could put a zero star on here I would but I can’t so I’m gonna give you a one and yeah that’s all I have to say honestly just if you don’t like boring movies don’t watch this movie was a waste of time a waste of my life.
