Bullets fly on the Atlanta freeway as armed thieves make their getaway following a bank robbery in broad daylight. Unhappy with the results, ruthless gangster Irina Vlaslov orders the men to pull off another job. One member of the team is Marcus Belmont (Anthony Mackie), a crooked cop who gets saddled with Chris Allen (Casey Affleck), his new but incorruptible police partner. As Belmont and his cohorts lay the groundwork for the heist, they come up with a devious plan to use Allen as their pawn.

At the end of the day, stories need to be about characters, not types. While nothing that ought to inspire a letter writing campaign from the ADL,"Triple 9" fails to make it past shorthand.

The real screen stealer in Triple 9 is Clifton Collins Jr., as the quietly diabolical, dirty detective Rodriguez. He is a reason why this film will keep you glued to your seat.

Triple 9 (2016) boasts one of the most impressive ensemble casts in modern crime thrillers, but it struggles to maximize its incredible potential. Directed by John Hillcoat, the film delivers gritty, intense action sequences and a very dark, cynical atmosphere. The central premise—corrupt cops planning an officer-down code to pull off a heist for the Russian mob—is a great hook. Unfortunately, the screenplay is overly convoluted, stuffing too many subplots and characters into the narrative. The result is a film that often leaves viewers confused and asking what exactly is going on. While the stellar cast and punchy action make it an entertaining, passable watch for fans of the genre, its messy execution prevents it from being a truly great crime epic.

Considering the amount of move stars starts in this movie thought I would enjoyed it more than I did. Bottom live is I didn't detestable it I wouldn't recommend it either. 🤷🏼‍♂️

This movie is completely filled with recognizable actors. I had very high hopes for it. But it didn’t deliver at all. The acting was good. But I couldn’t get invested in the plot. Extremely disappointing. If you decide to watch it, you’ll see what I mean
