Verena (Emilia Clarke) is a determined young nurse hired to help a mute young heir (Edward Dring) within an isolated castle in Tuscany. The more she observes the boy, the more Verena becomes convinced he has fallen under the spell of a powerful and otherworldly persona trapped in the villa's stone walls, one that seems to be rapidly entwining with her own.

Powerful movie!!! Amy Lee Speak to Me being the soundtrack to this movie is even more ICONIC!!! Amy Lee Speak To Me is one of thee most powerful ballads ever recorded!!! Definitely should of won plenty of awards!!! Amy Lee being Powerful along with the movie!!! Perfection!!!

Hot garbage, awful acting…very two-dimensional and fake. And having a mute kid and voice in the wall as main characters made it especially stupid.

I loved this movie. Seems miscategorized though. Not so much a twisted blood and guts, scary "thriller" as a metaphysical drama exploring other realms of consciousness or realities.

Reminded me of a book I read a few years back, Mexican Gothic????? I like the premise; I just didn't like the execution. That story should have been way more enthralling than it actually turned out.
