Jeremy (Vince Vaughn) and John (Owen Wilson) are divorce mediators who spend their free time crashing wedding receptions. Operating on the principle that lame verbal and visual gags are funny if the audience is repeatedly pummeled with them, Wedding Crashers sorely lacks a strong script and the kind of inventive direction worthy of its not-untalented leads.

Wedding Crashers is mostly well written, witty, energetic tosh. It's full of vulgar humour and implausible situations, but what I like best is how funny it is and how committed the performances are from everybody in the cast. Thankfully, Will Ferrell's part is kept quite short and doesn't arrive until late on. Some folks don't care for Vince Vaughn but I am definitely in the pro-Vaughn camp, especially when playing off Owen Wilson. What I'm not so sure about is the Wilson/McAdams romance. Do they have any chemistry? They certainly hadn't got any when reunited in Midnight in Paris (2011). Maybe that's why Woody put them together again, for the lack of rapport? It's possible. Bradley Cooper plays the a-hole to perfection, and the moment he gets punched in the face is worth waiting for, long after the movie has run out of momentum. One notch higher than stuff coming from the Judd Apatow stable.

Slightly overrated but still pretty good. Definitely has numerous funny and quotable moments, but it can drag in spots. Solid chemistry between the leads and the romantic connection. It's a classic that's worth watching but I find it more charming than funny.
