While the film's success has shone an important light on disability, the casting controversies, inability to let Auggie be a real person and inspiration porn messaging verge on insufferable. Wonder desperately wants you to cry. I did not.

Wonder is a simple, effective reminder of the significance of kindness in a world that frequently loses sight of it. The film is lovely, delicate, and emotionally evocative from start to finish, thanks to the actors' honest performances. I found myself in bits throughout, moved by the pure sincerity of the story. The plot is straightforward yet profound, following a little boy as he navigates school, family, and acceptance, but the emotional impact is enormous. Instead of preaching, Wonder softly demonstrates how empathy, courage, and compassion can alter people's lives in huge and small ways. The moral lessons feel limitless and ageless, making the picture as effective for adults as it is for children. Beautiful, humane, and enduring, Wonder delivers exactly what its title promises.

The reason for the bullying he faces is different from that in A Silent Voice. It is a pure coming-of-age story with no romantic subplots at all. Raised with tender care by his family, never treated as a "special child" or labeled differently, he ultimately earned friendship and respect through his kindness and courage. Courage, kindness, friendship, character—thesedefine our humanity, transcending biases of appearance to remind us that what lies within is far more powerful than what meets the eye. This is the essence of empathy: be kind, for everyone is fighting an unseen battle in life
