Amanda Zurawski, along with other women, shared their heartbreaking, personal, and courageous stories that made it clear that these policies are directly endangering women's lives. Overall, this film completely changed the way I understand reproductive rights by exposing the injustice behind these laws and giving a voice to those who are being restricted and harmed by them. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this documentary and getting to see real women fight for their rights and also the rights of all women seeking life-saving abortions. We get to see not only the women in court, but also in their personal lives and the real consequences that came from the traumatic experiences these women faced that could have been avoided if the state’s laws weren't so strict. Texas was an absolutely incredible and eye-opening film because it discussed the real-life and immediate consequences of restrictive abortion laws in Texas. This film shared the stories of real women who have been negatively impacted, some almost to the point of death, because they did not have proper reproductive rights. I enjoyed how this documentary humanized the highly politicized debate by showing the danger women face when they are denied abortion rights. This documentary made me think deeply about how the United States is regressing and entering a dangerous era for women. It was alarming to see how the decisions made by a few individuals can impact the lives of millions. After watching this documentary, I feel confident that bodily autonomy and reproductive rights are necessary, and I feel inspired to watch more documentaries about the importance of fighting for pro-abortion laws.
