You tune in initially because you hear about this hockey drama about two guys who hook up in secret thinking that it's going to be a sexy, horny piece of TV. And it is. But it ends up being something way, way more than that. Go to Full Review

The show feels unique. It’s physical and intimate, surprisingly quiet, and it moves strangely, telling its story in lurches and skids. Go to Full Review

I assumed Heated Rivalry was going to be a bit absurd, but instead it’s pretty exquisite. Go to Full Review

Anita S @Anita177 1d If you enjoy series that don't spoon-feed you every detail—and if you appreciate lovable characters who undergo incredible personal growth, along with a well-written script—then you’ve come to the right place! Over the course of its episodes, this show has evolved into one of the best series—and one of the finest love stories—I’ve seen in years! The two lead actors were complete unknowns prior to the show, yet they share incredibly strong on-screen chemistry. Perhaps this serves as a subtle hint to Hollywood that you don't always have to cast big names. This series is "old school" in the best sense: it relies heavily on all forms of non-verbal communication, meaning you’ll miss out on a tremendous amount if you don't stay attentive or if you’re glued to your phone. You aren't handed everything on a silver platter; instead, you have to read between the lines yourself. Sadly, this type of series and film is becoming increasingly rare. 5/5 stars. See more Joejoe H. @MojoJoeJoe 5d Absolutely love this! See more Laura F. @russellbustle 6d Before a recent re-viewing of “Heated Rivalry”, I wasn’t sure I’d be able to separate actors Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie from Shane (Williams) and Ilya (Storrie). In the five months since last watching the megahit, I’d absorbed a media avalanche of both information and speculation about the two performers. What a happy and impressive outcome: during the entire re-running, I was only absorbed in Ilya Rosanov and Shane Hollander. I send a standing ovation and loud loon imitations to the actors, to novelist Rachel Reid, and to series creator, writer, producer and director Jacob Tierney. Season 2 of “Heated Rivalry” is slated to start filming in August 2026. See more Cameron M @Cmartin1047 May 23 A queer story of love and joy, without the usual trauma that haunts the genre. Heated Rivalry is a beautiful reminder to anyone out there feeling like their love is wrong that if you can get through the tough moments, there is so much bliss to be found. This adaptation is beautifully told through fantastic acting, thoughtful, realistic writing, and an infectious soundtrack! I could not recommend this series more. See more zergy Z @RT85425466 May 23 it was a romance that just happened to be gay. the direction, cinematography, acting, script, and material it was taken from are all superb. the episodes build up on each other with an amazing break in episode 3, and by that time it makes people fully invested by episode 5. Episode six was a perfect lets slow it back down for an beatiful happy ending. amazing show. amazing directing. See more Jane F @NurseJane90 May 21 I couldn’t love it more! I’ve watched it over and over again and will keep doing so until season 2 comes out. I’m now also trying to convince all my friends and neighbors it is a must see. Hudson and Connor are Shane and Ilya. The whole cast and crew are excellent. Such a wonderful show and so easy to binge watch. See more Read all reviews
