After having been missing for nearly 20 years, Rick Sanchez suddenly arrives at daughter Beth's doorstep to move in with her and her family. Although Beth welcomes Rick into her home, her husband, Jerry, isn't as happy about the family reunion. Jerry is concerned about Rick, a sociopathic scientist, using the garage as his personal laboratory. In the lab, Rick works on a number of sci-fi gadgets, some of which could be considered dangerous. But that's not all Rick does that concerns Jerry. He also goes on adventures across the universe that often involve his grandchildren, Morty and Summer.

No episode ever feels like it's doing the same thing as one from a previous season and that does a lot of heavy lifting in helping things feel new again. Go to Full Review

Even though Season 9's experiment doesn't quite mesh well with the show, the standalone episodes themselves are interesting and humorous enough to feel like a typical joyride through space and time, Rick and Morty-style. Go to Full Review

While the writing, performances, and animation continue to be brilliant, there’s a darkness lurking that suggests Grandpa may never escape his ongoing existential torment. Go to Full Review

The best the series has been in a while, and that is coming from someone who thoroughly enjoyed the last few seasons. Go to Full Review

...the best of these episodes so intricately plot both the story and the jokes that they can feel epic within a half-hour timeslot. Go to Full Review

Julia K @RT77271054 1d Feels like the old Rick and Morty vibe is back!!! See more Angeliki P @RT97185557 2d I wish I could give the first episode a negative rating. It was like reading a bad fanfic, where one of the most prominent character's motivation, worldview, priorities and methods did a complete U-turn out of the blue, just because Rick C-137 is "a little different". The rest of the family, usually skeptical of Rick's POV, took everything completely in stride, did not question his part in this, and gleefully executed his orders. One of the most horrible things in this episode was watching what can realistically only be an extremely abused and neglected child getting beaten by his whole family, and this being presented as a Good Thing. And the most horrible thing of all was having a child abuse survivor do a CSA "joke" about himself and his abuser. See more BOXOKanal12 T @RT93794912 2d So far i think one of the maybe the best seazones we got but still only 2 episodes in i love it i think it seems more centered aroud the characters like evil Morty or now vacation Rick its really good See more Honeys P @RT25863208 3d The show seems to be following Netflix's advice for "casual viewing": front loading action and verbalizing everything happening. The first episode shows insane fighting, and then MORE fighting, until the episode is over. In between the filler action, they have managed to absolutely botch Evil Morty's character (and main Morty as well). The show is on a spiral to irrelevancy and the only things left for it are "Rick is depressed" and "Morty becomes kinda cooler". See more Legion R @Xyler 3d Nine seasons in, and Rick and Morty still manages to be completely unpredictable. The latest episode is proof that the show hasn't lost an ounce of its edge. It’s incredibly fast-paced, genuinely funny, and never hits a boring stretch. Just when you think they’ve run out of high-concept sci-fi tropes to subvert, they deliver an episode that feels completely fresh. Absolute banger. See more Bacon D @Wafferdoodles 4d Writing with genuine hate and rage for this show, as a fan of the previous few seasons (aside from small mishaps/incest episodes), I would not recommend anyone to watch it. I am on the first episode, and I genuinely feel SICK. They ruined Evil Morty's character. Why? What were you thinking, writers? Not to mention, just below 2 minutes, an incest joke. Just what we all needed, am I right? fuck you. I am tired of the terrible writing of this show and the constant need of terrible references and jokes. The animators are working their ass off to make beautiful scenes, yet you, WRITERS, ruin it by taking shit from an ass and putting it in the episode. Not only did you ruin one of the most consistent characters on your show, but you made me loose all respect towards this show. Please, for the love of God, make a decent episode.
