Set several centuries in the future, the abandoned Alita is found in the scrapyard of Iron City by Ido, a compassionate cyber-doctor who takes the unconscious cyborg Alita to his clinic. Alita: Battle Angel is one of those movies that you HAVE TO watch at a movie theater (...) it's a visual experience, so do waste your time and money in supporting this film. Alita alone deserves that effort.

The idea of it was super cool. I’ll definitely be reading the manga bc nothing is better than the original. Not sure if this is book accurate at all, but I hate how she meets her love interest right away and automatically clings to him, it would’ve been nice to see her have someone else to converse with. The dialogue is also cringey at a couple parts and the acting isn’t the best, but for the plot I’d say it’s worth a watch.

Definitely reccomend but would forewarn that it wraps up in a way that a sequel is expected by the team that made it; so, hopefully that happens. The movie does a decent job to never lag too long and bore the audience having compelling characterizations and origins with the mystery of who Alita used to be. However, some relationships are a little rushed to establish some stakes later on which, could've been sprinkled in a little earlier to not feel as rushed. I reckon some deleted scenes wouldve served that component and the cost of pacing. But, I'd take more satisfaction over pacing. Visuals are great, I reccomend 3D bluray if you can watch that way as it aids in realism of a character with unrealistic eye size for one example. 3D has good payoff. The universe is intriguing and warrants a sequel imo as it has established its foundation so that we may go full force into part 2.

The movie is simply wonderful! It's become one of my favorite sci-fi films! But I would love a sequel because this movie left many questions unanswered, to be clarified in a future film.
