John Rambo (Sylvester Stallone) is doing hard time in jail when his former boss, Col. Trautman (Richard Crenna), offers him a deal. If Rambo travels to Vietnam to try to find the American prisoners of war, his criminal record will be expunged. Rambo takes the reconnaissance assignment and agrees not to get involved in any of the action. However, when his Vietnamese lover, Co Bao (Julia Nickson), is killed by American forces, Rambo forgets his promise and takes matters into his own hands.

So powerful and intoxicating is this kind of movie hero that when we see him operating in a flaw-riddled movie like ''Rambo'' we realize that heroic action can override almost any script.

Great 80s action movie.How did all the bullets miss him? Lacks the emotional depth of the first one.A Great cheesy popcorn movie nothing more.If you just want to turn your brain off and watch things blow up and people get shot this is it if you expect a masterpiece this is not your movie.

As an action movie, it is fantastic; however, as a drama exploring depth, psychology, and complexity, it falls short of excellence—and doesn't quite measure up to the first installment. John Rambo’s character transformation felt somewhat rushed rather than evolving gradually, yet I still enjoyed the film.

Greetings from Lithuania. Recently I had an opportunity to re-watch one if not the most watched film of my childhood "Rambo: First Blood Part II" - yes, there were no limitations to watch these R rated flicks back then (not that there are many limitations to do it now). This picture was one of my favorite (probably the most favorite) when I was 10- 12 years old. What's not to like here! An absolutely calm, cool, "a man of few word" and muscular Sylvester Stallone at his very best in a superb shoot em up flick, with some macho one liners, revenge, simple love storyline and lots and tons of action action action - it's was a blast so say the least. Revisiting this genre masterpiece on 4K UHD (I own 2 versions) recently I was pleasantly surprised of how incredible this movie was paced. It doesn't drag for a second and does what it intended from start till finish. Those who are looking for subtle hints about "at war within" from first film - there isn't nothing here.

This film wasn't a patch on the first film, but as a kid from the 80s, Stallone was a cultural touchstone , you could reference almost anything he did and people would know and understand, these film were just what we all wanted to watch .
