M @Johann33 1 day ago Yet another story about personal transformation, overcoming one’s obstacles and mental barriers, and finally learning to experience life, but this time with a plethora of daydreaming sequences that are funny at first and then not so much. The cinematography is stunning, thanks to the outstanding, beautifully shot, postcard-worthy locations, and Ben Stiller does a very good job directing himself as this relatable yet odd-looking character. But he still does what he always does. Some moments are hilarious, while others are downright cringy. Still, the entire adventure is worth highlighting, particularly because of its final outcome, which is quite unexpected and satisfying. Some of the song choices are especially memorable and contribute to making the film such an entertaining and compelling experience. The film is also surprisingly rich in semiotic elements, with the red and blue color motifs being particularly relevant, as well as the constantly changing lighting throughout the film. I watched this on my PC but if I were to watch this on a cinema I would love this even more. This feels like a daydream but in a great way. The story is kind of wanky but I LOVE it. Ben Still did a great job as a Director but also a Actor. Walter Mitty will not work with any other person other than Ben Stiller. (But Keanu Reeves as him would weirdly work too).
