This film, one of the worst of 2006, almost has to be seen to be believed -- a comedy about a man who goes to Iraq, and, amid a string of comic misadventures, tries to save the life of his love, who has been gravely wounded in a bombing.

I absolutely loved it and am looking for it to show watch it again with my wife. Saw it about 10 years ago and remember it to be very touching, and liking it even better than La vita es bella

This must be the least funny and least entertaining thing I have ever seen. The main character is a goddamn creep. Moreover, I'd love to believe that someone who has lost their mind is not considered to be funny. The cherry on top: the characters poems are horrible and meaningless. Just like all the things he's talking about throughout the movie.

If there is anything that this movie proves, it is that critics are idiots. I have watched this film several times with different people, and we loved it every time. This is a tragic-comedy that is relatable and inspiring. Poetic love amid the mundane horrors of war and military occupation. Keats and Nietzsche, flowers and tanks.
