The film benefits from the intense performances of co-leads Marshal and Degruttola, though I never quite bought them together enough to make the downward spiral convincing. Go to Full Review

Anoushka Z @Anoushka01 Jun 7 Wonderful performances from Raffaello and Lyndsey. The best of guerrilla filmmaking. See more siobhan H @RT11893826 Jun 7 To Love A Narcissist is exactly the kind of film independent cinema exists to make. Raffaello de Gruttola refuses to offer easy answers or tidy moral judgements — instead he gives us two deeply wounded human beings and the courage to ask: what does love look like when it’s broken from the start? Which ends up being incredibly funny & heartbreaking at the same time. The cast are exceptional. Every performance feels lived-in and dangerously real — there’s no vanity here, no safety net. These are actors fully committed to the uncomfortable truth of their characters, and the result is the kind of screen chemistry that’s impossible to manufacture. You believe every moment. The film is visually stunning, with cinematography from James Anthony Burgess that feels intimate and restless in equal measure — echoing the great New York cinema of the 70s while remaining entirely its own thing. This is a film that trusts its audience, and that trust is rare. See more Read all reviews
