Yash B @yashbansal 6 days ago "Woman in the Dunes" is a prime example of a film I appreciated much more than I enjoyed. The movie boasts really good cinematography and an interesting premise, that eventually becomes hypnotic and clautraphobic. I can see how there are some big ideas here with its limited setting and characters. It is a fascinating film in a lot of ways, and I can commend its artistic value. That being said, it is very slow-paced by design, and at times it did feel a bit uneventful for my liking. Overall, it is an interesting classic movie that is certainly well-made, but one that I don't see myself watching again or really even recommending to most people. Much like the main character I felt trapped. I felt like I had been stuck in this sand pit forever and was desperate for it to end. But as a twist, the real villains of the story are the sick twisted people watching these two suffer at the bottom of the pit.
