Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021) Ciaran Kerr Shang-Chi was a spectacle. It was fresh, and fun, and engaging throughout. It was exactly what you would expect from Marvel, and it was refreshing to see a new addition to the ever-growing roster of Marvel heroes on the silver screen.

Judy & Punch (2019) Ciaran Kerr Judy and Punch is a mixture of the dark revisionism of The Favourite with some Monty Python-esque flair. This is probably my favourite Australian film of the year so far, and is a showcase of the universal, yet unique, stories this country has to offer.

Much like a comic from your childhood, you know you can pick it up, continue with beloved characters, and escape into a world you are familiar with.
