A century before the events of "Game of Thrones," two unlikely heroes wander Westeros. In an adaption of George R. R. Martin's novella "The Hedge Knight," a young and naive but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg, face a series of dangerous exploits. Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne and images of the last dragon have not yet passed from living memory, great destinies and powerful foes await these improbable and incomparable friends.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is a welcome return to Westeros that works better in the buddy-comedy arena rather than solely slaying its competition.

Audience Says

Way more dopey than GoT, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms offers a refreshing, low stakes return to Westeros anchored by the endearing duo of Egg and Dunk.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is a refreshing reset, leaning into the traditions of chivalric tales, as if these characters had walked out of King Arthur’s world. Go to Full Review

Thrilling as it might be to brave the icy clutches of White Walkers, or the sulfurous fires of terrible dragons, it's also nice to spend some time suspended between those two extremes -- to find a mild, temperate place. Go to Full Review

The amazing chemistry between Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell is what really makes this series stand out. Claffey's Dunk is a revelation—a huge, well-meaning knight whose bravery is much greater than his actual skill Go to Full Review

Compared to Game of Thrones, which built its reputation through accumulation and shock, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms builds confidence through containment. It understands exactly how much story it has, tells it cleanly, and stops. Go to Full Review

Priscilla L @Perci1978 3h I love this show..it is such a departure from the two previous installments..it's a great mix of storyline, dialogue and action with funny back and forth and memorable characters..Dunk and egg have great chemistry and the supporting actors bring a lot to the show. Try it..you'll like it. See more Tobias F @Toby_bignutz69 4h Clever writing, well acted, amazing production design/costumes. Looks classier than any fantasy show out there (minus HOTD). Oh, ad music slaps too 🎶🎵 See more Lost in d @LostInSpacey 7h If you like Game of Thrones, be prepared for more amazing world building and character development. So far, the show has blown away my expectations. Sure, I think the episodes could be longer (they are 30-40 minutes each) but I am finding the quality to be exceptional. Without giving away any spoilers, I am finding this to be much lighter than the original series and quite a bit funnier. After watching the first episode, which had me in stitches, I immediately went to Reddit to find out if other people were upset with the length of the show (as it was 40 minutes). That was the main piece of criticism I saw from people, and I agreed that it could have EASILY been another 20 minutes. The first episode seemed as if it was setting up for something, and the second episode felt the same. But, by episode 3, I was enjoying the show so much that I realized this shorter sequence definitely has its place. I am excited to continue watching and am expecting many more laughs. "To The Victor!" See more Milo B @milo_46666 8h Dunk and egg best duo See more erryn @erryn 13h the best game of thrones adaptation since the first season of the game of thrones! if you're a fan of that universe, this is a MUST watch. See more John M @MeetTheMills 19h Absolutely great watch. Loving the developing friendship between Dunc and Aegon. Imagine the action is going to ramp up. Having read the book years ago I've luckily forgotten much of the detail and only remember the broad outline. See more Read all reviews
