Battle Force (2012) Paul Chambers Apparently someone got inspired by Quentin Tarentino's recent film about American soldiers hunting Nazis during World War II. "Inglourious Basterds" makes "Battle Force" look like a high school acting project.

Barbarella (1968) Paul Chambers "Barbarella" is the 1968 sci-fi that made Jane Fonda a household name. The opening credits feature a striptease that takes Fonda from a cumbersome space suit to her birthday suit. Her sex kitten looks were enough to drive young men crazy.

Safe (2012) Paul Chambers The usually stone-faced Statham actually emotes a bit here and there. You kinda get a nice warm vibe right before he kills about 20 to 30 people. Then, repeat.

The Raven (2012) Paul Chambers For mystery lovers, there isn't much to do except watch the story play out. A distinct shortage of suspects could mean guessing the killer's identity won't be much of a challenge for fans of the genre.

The Innkeepers (2011) Paul Chambers Sara Paxton is so photogenic and her acting is so nice that I wish there was more for her to do. Instead she just wonders about the near-empty hotel, reacting to cheap scares. Ho hum!

The Scarlet Worm (2011) Paul Chambers As far as I'm concerned, there aren't enough westerns being made these days. Even low-budget entries are welcome, but unfortunately "The Scarlet Worm" doesn't make a good case for a revival of the genre.

Episode 50 (2011) Paul Chambers "Episode 50″ moves along at a nice clip with a better-than-average setup story. It fails however to keep up its dramatic grip as the story's collective IQ drops lower than the temperature of those cold spots dotting the hospital hallways.

American Reunion (2012) Paul Chambers "American Reunion" is full of scuzzy humor and improbable encounters, but you got to love it. The story is reasonably well written. It's the characters that we come back to see. They're predictable and we like it that way.

Silent House (2011) Paul Chambers "Silent House" just isn't scary. The only reason to keep watching is to see if they screw up the tracking shot, and leave the boo boo in without stopping. Ultimately I was bored and didn't really care after the first 15 minutes.

Safe House (2012) Paul Chambers Director Daniel Espinosa shows his fondness for Tony Scott's shaky-cam tint-o-rama method of directing. Choppy editing, a shaky camera and darkened daytime scenes are annoying, especially when combined with a weak script and predictable characters.
